For survivors & professionals

How to refer a survivor to Adavu.

If you or someone you support has survived modern slavery, our aftercare service may be able to help. Here is who we support and how to make a referral.

Who we can support

Our aftercare service is for adult survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking who have left the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), usually with a positive Conclusive Grounds decision. We are based in Birmingham and accept referrals from across the West Midlands Police area.

We know this is often a moment of real uncertainty — when formal support ends and the risk of poverty, homelessness or re-exploitation is highest. Our role is to walk alongside survivors through what comes next.

Making a referral

Three simple steps

01

Get in touch

Contact our team by phone or email to talk through the referral. If you are a professional, let us know your role and how best to reach the survivor safely.

02

Share the details

We will ask for some information about the person's situation and support needs, with their consent, so we can understand how we can help.

03

We take the next step

If we are the right service, we will arrange an introduction and begin personalised, long-term support at a pace that works for the survivor.
