Become a Volunteer Befriender
Befrienders walk alongside survivors as they settle into life in the local community. That might mean sharing a cup of tea and a conversation, helping someone practise English, navigating an unfamiliar city, or simply being a consistent, trusted presence during a difficult transition.
You don't need previous experience — just warmth, reliability and a willingness to listen. We provide full training and ongoing support, and we match volunteers thoughtfully so both you and the people you support feel comfortable. As part of our Safer Recruitment process, applicants complete a self-declaration form and, depending on the role, an enhanced DBS check before starting their induction.
